Grindworx Highlights: Most Popular Items

I got to wondering what the most popular items at Grindworx were, so I did some digging. I was actually surprised by what I found, so I thought I would share the most popular Grindworx items from last month with you. I didn’t know many of these items existed, surprisingly enough.

First though, can I just say wow?  You guys sure like your automatics and spring assists! I can’t blame you though. They are pretty freaking awesome.

That’s enough from me. Here are some of the most popular items from July 2013 here at Grindworx.

Mini Black Bolstermatic

This is a really neat little blade. It’s an automatic with great action, and it has a hidden release button, which I think is really cool. Besides being fairly unique, the hidden release is also beneficial because it is unlikely that your knife will fire accidentally. I feel like it would be much easier to watch the knife being opened than for me to explain it, so if you’re interested, watch this overview of the knife in the video below.

The knife comes to 3.5 inches in length when closed, so it’s a great size for everyday carry. Did I mention it was only $4.99? This really is a fantastic budget knife. Get it at Grindworx.

Black FlapJack Flipping Knife

This is another pretty unique blade. It looks like a normal knife in this picture, but it actually operates very similarly to a butterfly knife. However, on the FlapJack, both handles are safe handles. The knife also folds up into itself for convenient carry. The overall length is 9.25” and the weight is 6 oz. Videos do a lot to give more information about the overall look and function of a given knife, so check out the video below to learn more about this knife:

Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops Champagne Tanto

I won’t spend much time on this knife because we’ve already talked about it on the “get a knife” blog (well… not the champagne version) and it was also in the newsletter recently. All you need to know is that this is a stellar knife with excellent action. What more could you want?

Firefly spring-assisted knife

This is another great affordable knife ($5.99). The spring assisted function makes the knife fun to open, but it also has a nice, warm feel because of the wood handle. The Firefly also is a great size for everyday carry, and it fits nicely in hand.

Schrade Scaly

I feel like this is another knife that needs no introduction, but here it is anyway. One huge reason that I suspect this knife is so popular is that it is California legal. Yes, you read that correctly! The blade length of 1.75” makes this knife adhere to California’s laws concerning automatic knives. But, that’s not the only perk this knife has; it has great, fast action, and it operates smoothly. Its small overall size (3.1”) also makes this knife easy to carry in your pocket, backpack, or wherever. For only $19.99, you really get a solid budget automatic knife with the Scaly.

If you want to watch this knife in action, check out this overview:

Winchester spring assist II

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this knife is another awesome option for everyday carry. It’s only $9.99, and it has great functionality. The Winchester II has a sliding safety, which you don’t always see on budget automatic knives. The safety actually doubles as the lock, too, so when the knife is open, the blade is securely in place and isn’t going anywhere. The knife has a really nice look to it, too. Try it out!

I’ve posted so many videos in this post, I see no reason to stop now. Have a gander at this video below if you want to see more about this blade:
